Initially the file sizes of uncompressed / lossles Music were too large for even home players. Over the past few decades the cost of hard drives / storage have come down dramatically and size has increased. So two of the original reasons are no longer with us, but... with the popularity of the smaller format, peopls are adding more music than ever. Even larger portable devices (up to 160GB) aren't enough for some collectors, so the small file size is a value once again. While MP3 is a compressed format (smaller) it still can deliver good sound quality for portable devices, distributed audio systems in the home and even in the Car.
What type of CDs do you “Rip”? We “Rip” standard US Music CDs which are professionally recorded and distributed. We don’t rip CD-Rs that you ripped or that have been given to you.
What we charge you for We charge for all CDs that we handle, so it’s best to remove CD-Rs, DVD.Rs, Video Games on Disks and anything that is not a Music CD.
What about duplicate albums? We will delete duplicate albums to keep your collection clean, but if we process 2 or more copies of the same album, we will charge you for each instance, but we do not charge for the de-duplication.
